7 Ecommerce Link Building Methods

  1. Submit to Web Directories. Submitting to large and vertical directories can generate several hundred backlinks. if you have the time. Find some directories related to your niche to get more than just a like but actual traffic. It is also good to pay attention to the Pr of the internal pages. Don’t forget to look for do follow links.
  2. Submit Press Releases. Write a press release about your store’s launch and it can be released to multiple PR sites, which distribute to various online news outlets. News outlets are very trusted sources and rank highly in the search engine pages. Use a mix of free and paid release. Two of the top site are Prweb.com and Prleap.com. Use the proper press release format.
  3. Link Exchange with Similar Websites. Find sites which are highly relevant so you get links and traffic. Exchanging links can be very useful and you should dedicate a majority of your time to find link partners. Email potential link partners  directly. Don’t get discourage if there are no responses just keep looking. 
  4. Web 2.0. Build support sites like Squidoo and Hubpages. These are easy to create and see a lot of internal community traffic. It only takes around 15 minutes to set up one fully and you can place important anchor text links on them.With a little promotion these sites can quickly gain Page Ranks of 2 and 3.
  5. Article Submissions. Write a short article on a specific product or topic in your niche and submit it to article directories. One article could generate over a hundred links. Good articles get more links because article is picked up and published on other websites. Some of the top article directories are ezinearticles.com, articledashboard.com, searchwarp.com, and goarticles.com.
  6. Social Media Profiles. There a whole bunch of social websites online which allow you to insert a link to your website on the profile page. Sign up for some of them, preferably using a username and avatar that brands your business or you as a person. This might come in useful when you decide to promote your site via the social website in the future.
  7. Social Bookmarking/Voting Websites. Social voting websites like Propeller or Digg are often crawled by search engines and their links help to get a website indexed especially deep product pages. Use a tool like socialmarker.com to submit your site to these social bookmarking sites.
